Wheel Refinishing
In addition to the aesthetic value of wheel refinishing, there are several other factors to consider when asking yourself if this service is right for your fleet. First is safety. During the refurbishing process we uncover cracks in the wheel
face plate that cannot be easily seen with old paint build-up. Next, we check for corrosion at the bead seat area of the wheel, which can have a negative impact on extended casing life due to bead damage.
The Powder Coat – Wheel Refinishing Process
The process begins with a visual inspection of the wheel to ensure that the bolt holes are not distorted from wear and that there are no cracks or bends that would render the wheel unserviceable. Next, we use fragmented steel shot to
blast away the corrosion and old finish from the wheel, again we inspect for cracks that may not have been visible prior to shot blasting. We then use a magnetic process to apply powder to the bare metal surface. Then the wheel
is placed in an infrared oven and baked to a super high gloss finish. The end result is a refurbished wheel with the same qualities as new at a fraction of the price.
Mounted Wheel Programs
This service is provided for the fleet that wants to focus on their core business and outsource all or part of their tire-related services. In many cases, this program can greatly reduce the expenses associated with the second highest operating
expense a fleet face
